Installation:
First, you'll need to position the shelf on the wall. Shelves should be at a height that is easy to reach. Standard practice is to place picture frames roughly at eye level.

Super easy to install. You don't need to have special skills. Quick overview about all three different installation methods: 

First step - attach the smaller wooden board to the main board, there are 4 screws to complete this step.

Second step - now you have one whole piece which should be attached to the wall, these are 2 screws for this step.

The total amount of weight a floating shelf can hold varies depending on the quality of installation, the structure of the wall the shelf is attached to, the size of the shelf and how the weight is distributed. Your shelf will always be strongest when attached directly to wall studs.
